SORAYAMA'S GYNOIDS
If you haven't discovered Hajime Sorayama, you've missed something special. What Olivia is to contemporary pin-up art and Giger is to biomechanical Gothica, Sorayama is to techno-eroticism--equal to both, yet as different from them as they are to each other.

Although his images are photographically realistic, it is that they are not photographs that is so striking. Sorayama's ability to capture the subtleties of texture--fur, metal, leather, latex, hair, silk, flesh--is breathtaking, styled with complex, reflective surfaces and direct, but elegant light sources that mirror the best of glamour imagery.

All that, however, is subordinate to his concepts: a half-leather android slut, dripping with liquid passion; a female ninja decked in armor, spikes, and a net bodysuit; a captive blonde in stiletto heels and stockings masturbating with the coils of some high-tech alien ticklers.

We've seen Sorayama's bag of tricks before, but not in this size: a massive 10-1/2 x 14-1/2" masterpiece that provides a fresh perspective to the work--in addition to being more explicit than his previous offerings.

The volume is strictly a no-text, all-visual collection of the artist's newest illustrations in full and double-page size, often with variations of costumes and props. Just when you believe he's envisioned the ultimate fantasy girl, you turn the page and find another, even more enticing, mysterious, and provocative beauty.

If it gets better than this, we haven't seen it!
