Top-billed as "Miss Spontaneous Combustion," flame-haired Blaze Starr began her career as a nitery hat-check girl and rocketed to fame with her uninhibited, animalistic portrayal of a sensual jungle cat. The West Virginia native with the lush 37 1/2-24-35" super-structure soon dominated the East Coast strip scene, from Manhattan's bustling 52nd Street bistros to Miami's Collins Avenue clubs, then made her home in Baltimore's notorious, after-dark stretch The Block. Her affair with flamboyant Louisiana governor Earl Long was immortalized in the 1989 Paul Newman biopic Blaze (in which Starr cameoed as a backstage stripper the actor kisses on the neck). In an act that featured little dancing, the red-headed panther girl reportedly commanded a four-figure weekly salary. Her autographed material is very rare, and this is the only apparel she has ever autographed. All her stage costumes were destroyed in a flood, so she has made the following lingerie available. Each item is relatively new, and although worn by Miss Starr, is in fine condition.
